Shadows of the cool evening lay long and low as a soft breeze drifted through the area. The breeze teased the tangle of ivy in the back most part of the area surrounding the building. Slipping slowly through the shadows, Fritzie made her way towards the 'doorway' that would lead into the building that had been her home, years ago.
"It should not be much father ahead," she whispered to the love of her life, Vice, as they made their way towards the back of the building. As the pair pushed through the ivy, it was as it had been all those years back, although a little bit dirtier. The pile of rubbish heaped just right to allow a dog of enough experience to jump from it through the broken out window too far high up to just climb through. The slight swelling of her belly caused Fritzie no discomfort as she climbed up the pile and stood, staring at the entryway into her past. "Just through there is a safe place for us to live, and raise a family," Fritzie smiled at the male beside her.

this is what you mean to me
Vice was in awe of Fritzie's street-smarts as she led him through tangles of plants before hopping over and around human-made obstactles that he wouldn't have even attempted to navigate on his own. He had always thought of himself as very self-sufficient, but he now realized that living on your own all your life didn't mean you could take care of yourself if you ended up in a different environment, especially one you had no experience with. Sure, he could survive by himself but with Fritzie he could really live, taking pleasure in each day and enjoying it like a gift bestowed upon him.
She let him know they were getting close and before he could stop her she quickly scaled a heap of debris and climbed through a window, turning back and waiting for him to do the same. He'd never had his paws leave the earth and it was strange to feel his weight distributed so unevenly, but if she were able to do this in her condition then he would be a coward to turn back. Carefully, tail tensed and lowered ever so slightly despite his desire to mask his nervousness, he hopped up beside her, rear paws momentarily scrabbling for grip just long enough to start his heart racing before they found purchase against the rough concreate of the ledge.
She wanted this, a safe place for them to live together, just as much as he did. While he had never been into a building and was nervous about being closed in, with roof over his head rather than open sky, he had only known one life and feared something new, while she had lived in both worlds and certainly knew what would be best for them.
"I'm really impressed with you hon, I know are pups are going to be safe here with both of us watching over them. Should we find you some place comfortable to rest? I know I'm tired after walking all day to get over here and can't imagine how exhausting it would be to do that on shorter legs." He teased her gently, knowing full well her legs were almost as long as his, and only shorter because he was half Rottie and certainly had the size to show for it, and he would rather suggest they lay and take a breather than have her get embarassed if she didn't want to show what a toll the long walk could possibly have taken.

Looking around the room that had once been her home, Fritzie felt a sense of right. That she was doing the right thing, bringing Vice here to have the pups. She was home, after so long, though she wished she could see her father and mother, and her brothers and sister. But that was the past, and Vice was her future now. She glanced over at him, panting a little heavily, since she was still quite pregnant and had over-exerted herself just a tiny bit.
"Yes, lets. This is just the entry room, but I think I remember a nice room with some blankets on the ground not much farther in, just through this door." she thought back, seeming to remember the room as almost a sort of nursing room. The door was halfway broken, the bottom shut with the top open. Softly padding along, Fritzie moved from this room into a hallway, and, looking left and right, went left and came to the doorway she thought of.
Smiling back at Vice, she jumped over the broken piece and landed with an oomph in the other room. Over in the corner were many dirty blankets piled together. "Just like I remember it," she said softly, then walked over and spun a few times, curling up to lay down.

Vice could tell by her easygoing demeanor and panting that Fritzie was ready to rest for a little bit. She told him of a room that would be perfect for them to curl up in and he followed her through the doorway, treading closely behind her as she led the way to a heap of blankets and settled in. He flicked his ears, alert to any noise coming from outside but heard only the soft singing of the birds. Tail wagging, he lowered himself beside her to rest his head against her shoulder and smell the sweetness of her fur.
"It's perfect Fritzie. I'm glad you showed me your home and I know it must be really special for us to have come back. I'm honored to be continuing your family tradition while we raise our pups here and teach them to be as brave and kindhearted as you, dear." He nuzzled her, heart fluttering with happiness and a warm feeling spreading from his chest down each limb and into his toes. He felt a fuzziness that hadn't overcome him since he was a pup nestled against his mother's belly with his sisters.
His past was taken care of and there was no one left to haunt him. By coming to Fritzie's packlands they had started life anew and it was like coming into a fresh world with endless possibilities.

OOC;; might as well have the pups now lol
BIC;; Fritzie twisted her head back and licked Vice's cheek. His words warmed her heart and brought a smile to her face. Shifting a bit to get a little more comfortable with the size of her stomach. Dropping her head she heaved a sighed as a ripple quivered across her stomach.
"Oooh..." Fritzie shivered slightly. Her eyes closed with a small pain, then snapped open again as another shudder wracked her body. "Oh.... Vice... I think it may be time," she spoke through clenched teeth.

Pain. Delihla lifted her head and turned her nose towards the building she was near. It appeared abandoned, but she could smell someone in pain. Whining softly in sympathy for whoever was in pain, Delihla followed the scent trail she had picked up and headed towards the back of the building.
The ivy didn't faze Delihla at all and she spotted the broken window and the rubbish pile and quickly climbed up and went through the window. "Hello? Is everything alright?" she called out, awaiting the answer of whomever was in the building already. She'd been in the town for a while now, and she thought maybe it was time to find a home for good. Her human's weren't going to come for her...
