this is what you mean to me
In the sick light of a grey, miserable sky, a large blue and white structure stuck out rudely against an almost perfect treescape. Tall green plants surround the building, constructed only a few decades ago and already rundown, abandoned by the humans who destroyed so much of nature only to leave it in wreckage. Even the foggy, unclear light was enough to show chipped, peeling paint and smashed in windows, which had been entered time and again when the small factory had first shut down, though it was now stripped of all but the largest of equipment and work benches, far too cumbersome to be removed. With weeds working their way through cracks in the once perfect, level pavement, it was clear that nature would be methodically reclaiming what it had been robbed of. All in all, this place did not give a welcoming impression.
Regardless, a visitor had indeed come, walking with light, springy steps. Were it not for the ash grey streaks on his white underparts, the dog's rich mahogany and black coat would've looked regal, well-kempt. He was not a housepet. Not even a feral. This dog subsided on what he brought himself. He was born and raised in the desert, but had come here in hopes of obtaining more hospitable territory. Slipping through a slim opening beneath the chain link fence, he had scraped his chest, leaving a small gash, growing redder by the minute. Unconcerned, he looked down, gave the wound a quick once-over with his tongue, and leapt through one of the few windows that had escaped boarding over.
He glanced about, ascertaining the situation. At one time, a group of dogs had lived here, loved here. As of now, however, their scents had faded and he couldn't be sure whether they were still around or not. No matter, he had other things to worry about for the time being. Walking with an even gait, he crossed the room, not even minding small piles of broken glass as they shone like crystals in the pale light. He left the slightest trail of blood, each step caused the shards in his paws to tinkle against the concrete floor, but he finally felt at home. Raising his leg defiantly against the wall, he claimed the territory as his own and dared another to try and challenge him out of it.
His muzzle bore no hint of smile nor snarl, and his eyes gave away no more emotion than simple liveliness. One would not be able to tell whether the gleam they bore was that of a joyous individual greeting a long lost friend or that of a predator who realized he was going to make the kill. As of now, he felt nothing. And it was relief.

Seeing the lone dog cross the old factory, Lumina layed on one of the many abandoned carts, watching with great curiousity, finailly she spoke out. And just who might you be old one? As you do not look very lively by which means I seek. she had no intention of fighting the dog, as once she too looked so sad. She opened herself to be a friend to this dog. Once again had she said a beautiful line of presentce.
The dog might not see or smell her, but she existed, she had a few scrapes on her paws, and she had a mouse at her feet that she had killed earlier, but she had no intention of hurting or really even talking to the dog, but she intended to find out what it was doing in her own little, lair. It smells male, she thought. What is your name your humble self, so I may not do apon me and shun you by calling you male. She looked down at the dog with great experence in her eyes. In wonder, but also in saying she was dominant over him. She could easily defeat a dog so muffled and beaten, but she had no interest in him.
She was certain he had no interest in her either, but, just to be sure, she crossed her back legs and licked her front right paw. She had seen many fights, and she had taken part in many too. She may not seem like it, but Lumina thought she might have feelings for this sad weary dog, she thinks there good, but they could be bad. Wait and see she thought. Wait and see.

this is what you mean to me
Vice prowled through the factory, paws smearing the dusty floor as his wounded paw continued leaving bloody drops, miniscule shards of glass working further into his feet with each step, a few of the smaller pieces falling out to litter the concrete. He breathed in small rapid breaths, testing the air every time he caught a new scent and heading away from his urine as the smell permeated the air, filling the factory with his pungent musk.
An unexpected sound came to his ears, the voice of a she dog, and apparently an uppity one at that. She called him 'old one' and commented that he didn't seem lively... He watched, his eyes burning with a steady intensity matched only by the increased tension that rippled over his body. Who the hell was this crazy bitch? At hearing her call him humble, he exploded with a rage he had not thought possible for any but his father, Exploit.
"Old?! I'm a single year. My name is Vice and at this rate you may just count yourself among those who know why." Breathing heavily he continued to watch her, this dog who moved with an air of superiority. Some sort of spoiled house pet or pack heiress, he couldn't be sure which but figured either guess couldn't be too far from the truth.

Lumina was surprised by the wolfs response.Really now, why get worked up. Its all right, I am not going to hurt you She was slightly shocked by his answer, Surely this wolf doesn't know who he is speaking to she thought, grimly Anyways, my name is Lumina and I am 3 years old. Please excuse me by calling you old, you look like you have seen a abundance in your lifetime, that makes you similar, I suppose
She hopped down from her throne. And she obviously was kind of..short, as she was only 1 and a half feet tall. But by all means that she could and will hurt him, if he attacks first.

The Rottweiler mix watched her carefully, his brown eyes taking in her every move, each rise and fall of her breathing chest. He was observing every minute twitch of a single whisker and calculating exactly how much time it would take him to reach her should he choose to attack. He closed his eyes, catching her scent with his wide nostrils and wrinkling his nose, the tips of his incisors visible against his black lips.
She was young and bore the smell of this place. It's sick slew of chemicals was almost more than he could bear and a single sneeze escaped him, spittle flying through the air among the dust motes. He could not discern how long she had been in this place, but he was certainly the newcomer here.
Fuck. He had come here in hopes of claiming his own territory, marking out a piece of land where he might come to think of what he'd done to his two sisters. Accept it and move on or find some way to make ammends. Now he had this bitch to deal with, a similar dog to himself with her dark fur and rust markings. She appeared to be more pure of breed and certainly was heavier in build than he who was of partial shepherd blood.
He nearly scoffed at her statement that she would not hurt him. If she knew what other blood had stained my paws... he thought grimly. Yet she also alluded to her possible awareness in what he had seen in his life, what he had done. He was neither proud nor ashamed of his past yet it ran through his mind, maddening him in the same way that names become meaningless sounds if you say them enough.
"Lumina, eh? Apology accepted then, and surely I have been through more than enough for my liking. Do you travel alone or should I be watching my back right now?" Surely she could tell by his rigid stance, his actively moving ears, that he had not let his guard up, but that was his attempt at conversation, take it or leave it.

Lumina smiled, Your catching on, hmmm Luminos come on our he won't hurt you A wolf almost identical to Lumina came out. Shyly, Luminos came out and saidWhy Hello there. She was also unsure of the situation right this second. What does my sister want me to do? She wondered.
Luminos sat down behind the dog, waiting for Luminia to grant permission to move, she was dominate over her after all. Luminos gave a warning glance to the dog near her, I would be careful with her, she can have a temper she then glanced to her sister. Who glared at her , with warning and dominance clearly in her eyes. She was in full control of the situation.
*Right, I am sorry, I am doing it in pieces*

OOC;; they're not wolves, none allowed on this site
BIC;; This black and tan dog was making Vice more and more interested. She didn't seem to be either intimidated or outright aggressive- two things he had come to expect of dogs right off the bat. Where he came from you were either a leader or a follower, no in between, and so it shocked him that there were dogs who acted as Lumina did.
When she spoke, addressing one named Luminos, he became confused and momentarily wondered whether she was talking to herself. Eyebrows furrowed, he watched warily as another Rottweiler came into view. He was surprised he hadn't noticed her scent earlier but as she walked by he noticed that she smelled identical to the other and was likely a relative, sister or even twin by his guess. She gave him a glance, the meaning of which he could not quite discern.
Speaking loudly enough for them to know it was directed at both of them, Vice barked, "So what exactly are the two of you doing here, trying to claim the territory for yourselves or form some sort of ragtag pack?"

*Riiiiight, xD I forgot which Roleplay I was doing Sorry, Wolf, is a Dog* ICC: Lumina spoke, By which means we be here really is no purpose, but I shall tell you we most likley will not be staying here, only temporary, but our feet seem to have become rather, accustomed to the floor, and we will stay until we feel it is necessary to stay. She looked to her sister slightly, tilting her head. But, since you brought it up, it is fair to tell you that me and Luminos have been together for quite some time, and we cannot and will not seperate by any means.
Luminos was suprised at the fact her sister allowed a tresspasser to see her, let alone, let her mess with them. She could be interested, or she could be just mocking him, she was not to act to rash towards her sister, but she best be careful, Lumina gave Luminos the thing she needed to hear Permission to move closer, or move at all if you wish Luminos sighed slightly and came forward, she sat directly to the right of her sister, and she faced the dog opposing them. Still, worry seemed to cloud Luminos she felt her eyes stuck in the vision of the dog in front. She was worried what Lumina might do. Her nose twitched but she remained still. Waiting, watching.

Vice was impressed by the way in which Lumina spoke to him, her voice loud and clear enough to carry through the large and nearly empty room. She did not make excuses and hardly answered questions, letting him know that things were how they were and there would be no changing that. He felt the start of a smile and tried hard to suppress it, enjoying the conversation with this bitch who was obviously as witty as him even as her voice was laced with the possibility of sarcasm.
"Makes sense to me, this is a nice enough place anyway, so I'm supposing the two of you are related?" He raised his eyebrow curiously, unable to suppress the thought- twins!?
He couldn't help but notice how the second dog closely mirrored the first, watching her as a guide on how to act and stepped as carefully as most of the bitches whom his father had reigned over. Obviously the first Rottie was in charge, but he was amazed at the grace and precision with which Luminos moved, every aware of Lumina's actions, even as she watched Vice.
He wasn't sure whether she might answer but decided to speak to her anyway, figuring it was worth a try and she seemed very interesting to him- seemingly watching Lumina not because she happened to be tougher, but perhaps because the two of them were more of a yin-yang, each half complimenting the other until they both made up the partnership that had so far served them well. "Hello Luminos, I imagine there is a reason that you so clearly respect Lumina, and I would like to spend some time here, around the two of you." He was not asking her, knowing full well that it would be up to Lumina whether he might stay and hang out a while, but he wanted to see whether she might answer him, and then perhaps whether he could get a favorable responce.

Lumina spoke, You have a good eye, we are twins, born almost the same time, I was born first you probobly could guess Luminos was surprised that the dog asked her to stay, is he testing me? or wanting to see how Lumina would act with that question to her. She slightly relaxed her shoulders, and she smiled, she decided to answer, and hope Lumina wouldn't get upset. I suppose you can stay if you like, its your decision really, I can not make you do, but influence what you do.
Lumina's ear twitched, she's acting out of line, but I shall scold her later, she knows better than to speak directly to the male. Oh well, she thought, I will let it slide, for now Lumina couldn't help but notice that Luminos rarely spoke out of line, so she said one simple riddle When a dog follows, its a sheep, when it takes charge, its the dog, rule follower, or not, if the reason is that great, then tell me, she said under her breath, but just loud enough to hear
Luminos, why are you stepping out of line? She was intrigued to know the answer, she stepped to the same level as Luminos, and a smile emerged and curled upon her face. Luminos suddenly heard this and terror shot against her face, she looked to the dog, and she lied on her stomach, praying for her life. She panted, and looked to Lumina. Who nodded and said You can stand Luminos, in fact, stand now. She was acting better than her, and Luminos did what she said. She thought back on those words Gosh I am just testing you, "Dear sister'

Vice was watching the strange exchange between the two dogs and he could not help but wonder how Luminos felt about her sister. She seemed to be... a slave. In what sort of family would that have been allowed? He felt a flood of grief wash over him, remembering how he had disposed of his own siblings, but at least their suffering had been short...
No, there was no rationalization for what he had done. He was confused, ashamed of what he had done and sometimes just wished he could change it but there was no going back, not now and not ever.
Lumina was scolding her sister, shaming her in front of him and he watched as the large black and tan dog lay down, looking up at her sister as though the other dog might kill her and he began to wonder whether that would happen. Could Lumina really be any more of a monster than he was? After all, he had killed his own family but only at the order of his murderous father. It was so convoluted, there were so many filters to look through that one could hardly look at it in a rational way. He felt an aching deep in his heart as Luminos stood at her sister's command. What sort of life was that for a dog?
He could sense a silent exchange between the two and longed to know more than he did but he feared that to ask any more questions would only bring humiliation or harm to Luminos and he couldn't bear the thought of causing her any more misfortune. In hopes of distracting the more vicious of the two, he asked Lumina, "It is apparent to me that you have strength of character, few dogs would speak so boldly to either a dog such as myself or any Rottweiler at all, but what are your long term ambitions?"

Its really quite simple, I want to have a strong self, for a strong pack, that is my goal. I must be the Dominant Female, no less. I am in charge. Lumina bursted out, hardly controlling herself at the male. She was being kind of selfish while saying it. Luminos noticed it, but said nothing, she dare not say anything to the male, or to her sister. She felt they were hardly sisters anymore, but rather, part of a pack together, and that she was in charge. Her sister has a temper, and she understands that.
Lumina felt her face turn hot, and she felt anger and sadness burn inside her, she was upset that he even asked her, as it brought back memories of what happened in her life. It was long and tragic, and overall, not one to be told by her. She wanted nothing to do with the story, but, sadly, she was the main one affected by it. Her sister, Luminos, tried to help her several times, to help her overcome it. But she failed. She thought there was nothing anybody could do to help her. She was lost in a land of tears.

this is what you mean to me
Only after he had seen the results of his innocent little question did Vice see how loaded it really was after all. How could it not be? The two Rottweiler sisters obviously had a relationship shrouded in ways other than he knew of and could only be the result of a life much different than he was accustomed to. He had always been top dog in a land where you were either part of the team or part of the opposition- and god help those who belonged to the second group.
Standing here in near-darkness with his sore paws dripping blood onto the dusty floor, the young dog could hardly believe this was where his life had taken him. He was supposed to be the next Sheik living a glorious life surrounded by a harem of bitches and instead he was being confounded by what, if anything, he could do to help fix the strained relationship between two complete strangers. Long though he might, nothing would convince him to reveal his past to them and without a single tangible detail his credibility was zilch.
"Power, eh?" He watched Lumina carefully, tensing as he watched her watching him. "What would drive you to such extremes... to fight so hard for power over another being... could it be that you really yearn to feel less helpless as to your own fate, so you get a kick off controlling another as you let your own life spiral out of control?" He carefully edged further away as he said this, eyes wide and watchful, darting back and forth between the two to watch for any sign of movement.
Without turning his back to them he climbed up to an old workbench scattering buttons of every color and description to the floor. He saw the sadness in Lumina and wanted to comfort her, to show her the kindness and understanding that he had denied his own sisters as they faced the worst event of their short lives.. Stillness seized him. He could not move to them, would not allow himself to become emotionally invested in such things, and at the same time he felt a familiar tightness in his chest as he watched with dismay.

Power is the essence of my life. Time after time I was challenged to rise to the top. I must keep going if I am to survive. Lumina relaxed a little. She had no intentions of getting into something to further her own problems. She was done with problems and complications. She was sure Luminos was too. If I'm not strong... then.... her voice faded, and a teardrop fell from her face. Its been a very long time since she ever shed even a single tear. She knew what would happen if she did. It would mean almost certain death.
Luminos looked worried. She knew when her sister cried, it means a lot. She looked to the dog, she kind of liked how he spoke truth, but he did seem a little suspicious from his behaviour. Still, she pressed on, looking to her sis, she also looked at her sisters scars, and marks on her. They were from fights that she won, she has never lost a fight, until her father fought her. She then turned cruel. She didn't find out until she heard her sister cry. It was the last time she ever cried. That was over a year ago.
Lumina looked to her paws, for confort, she had nobody to go to. No one would care if she was alive or dead, she wanted somebody to care, somebody to listen. She was falling apart. She looked to the dog. She didn't want to seem weak to him, so, she wiped the tear, and fought to speak, it sounded deepressing and unstable Never mind, nothing will happen She was not wanting to show weakness, she wanted to be a guide to others, she wanted to be the boss.
Luminos felt her sisters pain, and looked to the floor, it was stained with blood, and it looked like a mess. It was where her sister and her were, for a long time. She grew to have a connection with the place. She didn't want to break it now.
Blood stained and broken, Lumina layed down, and put her head between her paws. This was truly, not her day.

this is what you mean to me
It was difficult to see such a strong dog obviously in distress. Lumina's sadness was obvious enough for Vice to notice it and become uncomfortable. What secrets could she be carrying with her every day? He knew enough of his own to figure he was probably better off not asking her, but either way they were doing her harm. She was taking out her frustration on her sister- the one dog in the world who had stuck by her side all this time. It was a shame. And how must Luminos feel, following around this sister who basically beat up on her?
But it was not his place to judge. Different packs have different ways. Lumina had basically said that she needed to fight, to keep going until she became the boss or it killed her. In some ways he knew that she was right- all of us are forever struggling against one another just so that we can survive. If she eased up, perhaps another dog would come along who doesn't play nice... but then it really doesn't matter because neither does she.
He saw a tear slide down her cheek, leaving a dark wet line where it had passed. Inside of her rough exterior, she was sad and there was likely a part of herself that wished it didn't have to be this way. He felt more at ease, no longer worried about an attack but rather feeling a bit awkward as he didn't know how to comfort her. She rested her head on her paws, obviously unhappy... but in his pack the bitches just listened to what their Harem Leader ordered them to do. There was no kindness, no comforting. And so he did the only thing he could think of, which was to stand there rather foolishly and ask, "You okay?"
