OOC; Sorry I haven't replied >.< My brain hasn't been working very well lately...
BIC;
Glaw wondered where the other two members of the pack were, but judging by the way Hunter spoke he didn't know, either. "What kind of prey is around here?" He asked in an attempt to keep the conversation from becoming awkward. He wanted to see the rest of the castle, too. In fact, he wanted to see the whole rest of the territory. He stifled a yawn. Glaw was exhausted, but didn't want to seem rude. His mind wandered as it tended to do when he grew tired, wondering what ever happened to that dog he met at the junkyard. What was her name again? It was different... was it Fritzie? He wondered where his sisters were sleeping tonight, and he thought about where he would be a week from now. Still here? Or back in the city, hunting through dumpsters for a meal?

OOC// No prob :]
BIC// Don had been zoning out, present but largely unaware of the conversation between Glaw and Hunter. He snapped back to attention upon hearing Glaw ask, "What kind of prey is around here?" His stomach was grumbling with hunger and he was hoping this conversation would lead to a hunt or at least scavenging 'round the edge of the pine trees. He perked up and replied, "For the most part right around the castle all you'll find is some birds and small animals like groundhogs and chipmunks. Further toward the forest though there are rabbits and occasionally a deer or two."
He looked toward his father, wondering whether the King might be hungry as well. It had been quite a few hours since Don brought anything to eat and he would likely be wanting something soon rather than later.
Hunter spoke up, "Well it sounds like you two are rather hungry. Don, why don't you take Glaw for a hunt and show him more of the territory? If you guys have any luck you can bring something back for me as well." He made it sound like a joke, as though he didn't really care whether they brought him something or not but it was clear enough to Don that his dad wanted food and didn't feel up to the task of getting out and hunting today. He had to remind himself to be strong and not show his concerns. Looking over at Glaw he asked him, "Well, ready to check out what these hills have for grub?"

"Ok!" Glaw barked excitedly. He was hungry, and really did want to hunt, though he couldn't decided if it was worth it or if he should rest now and eat in the morning. He yawned again, this time forgetting to hide it. Deciding that he would only go for smaller prey, and offer to share it with Hunter, he turned looked down the hall towards the stairs. His tail swung back and forth, stirring up dust.
OOC; sorry for the short post!

OOC// It's all good :]
BIC// Don saw his new friend looking toward the exit and panted happily. Today was turning into a pretty good day after all- he would no longer have to spend all his time alone keeping up with the pack duties such as hunting and patrolling the area. Now that Glaw would come with him he could even strike up a bit of conversation and be distracted from his problems and worries for the moment.
"Okay Dad, we're gonna go get some food now," he said to Hunter before turning quickly back to Glaw. He lowered into a playbow, forelegs stretched out in front of him and tail rapidly wagging in the air. "Remember where we met? That's a great place to do some hunting since there are lots of little animals that hide under the pine trees. Race ya there!" He immediately began running, claws scrabbling on the stone floor as he rushed to the stairs and began running down them two at a time, legs flying out from under him and just barely getting their grip before he barrelled out the front door and tried to make it to the trees.
His annoying tics were back, sending him this way and that as he wove around bushes and branches. Still his path was mostly straight and he was having so much fun he would've barely cared if he'd been running in wide arcs and loops instead of the herky-jerky line he was making now.
Every effort went into moving his limbs as fast as possible and he relied on scent to lead the way. He could easily catch the wafting aroma of pine sap in the air and felt the pinecones scattering beneath his feet as he trotted through fallen leaves. Reaching his destination he plopped down on his rump and opened his eyes, looking around to see whether he was the first one here or whether Glaw had beaten him.

{hope its okay that I join}
The forest in this area of the city was nice. Very full, lots of little creatures to kill. Why, Saphira had already killed four field mice, which was kind of ironic because she was in a forest.
Chuckling to herself about that one, Saphira trotted through the woods, content to just check out her surroundings, when all of a sudden, a loud crashing sound came from the direction she was headed. Freezing, Saphira stood her ground, wondering what it could be. The younger dog, although not much younger, that came barreling in was a surprise, to say the least. From all the ruckus he had been making, she would have thought it was a bear.
"Well, hello handsome," she said softly when he opened his eyes. She trotted out into the clearing more, moving with a springy gait and her tail waving in the air. She could hear the sound of another something headed that way also, but she kept her eye on the dog before her, a smile on her face.

OOC; Hello, Saphira ;D
BIC; Glaw raced after Don, pausing for a second at the stairs. He pawed at the top stair, then, finally building up courage, hoped down the first three stairs, then slowly sped up until he was at the bottom. He lurched forward. Now he was awake! Faster... faster He thought to himself. He had to make it there before his new friend! He knew he was heavier, though, and not nearly as agile, and was not particularly disappointed when he lost sight of Don. He slowed, panting hard, to a trot. Soon he could smell the pine sap, but stopped dead as he pushed through the bushes. Another dog! Who was this? She was standing in front of Don, smiling. Maybe it was the daughter Hunter had spoken of. The thick-furred dog doubted it, though, for she looked nothing like either of them. She must be a stranger. Glaw stayed put. He assumed Don would deal with it; this was his territory, after all.

OOC// The more the merrier, welcome Saphira!
fuck. damn! DAMN!
BIC// When Don looked up, he had been expecting to see the red and white dog, Glaw, whom he had been racing with. Instead he was surprised and delighted to see that it was a tan and white female instead. "Well, hello handsome," she said in way of greeting. He looked at her, surprised, and blinked his eyes to be sure she was really there. She had stood up and come closer, tail wagging, and he could tell that she was friendly.
"H-hey," he managed to stutter, ears pulled back politely and a small grin on his face. Whoa this is awesome, two new friends here, who would have figured? He couldn't stop thinking how great it was that there were so many other dogs around right at his time of greatest need, when he had felt so lonely as his father got ill.
"So, h-how's it going?" he asked, embarassed by his stutter as another tic overcame him and caused him to flick his ears. He was hoping she would stay awhile, it seemed like there were alot of dogs passing through lately since this winter had been especially hard on packs and many seemed to have disbanded.
He waited quietly, wondering where Glaw was at. He hadn't met him here, and perhaps the two of them knew each other. How cool would that be, if they were friends? But then he realized.. if they knew each other maybe she wasn't here for him, perhaps she was here with him. No matter, he was sure he would find out soon enough. He waited patiently to see what had brought her round the castle.

Saphira continued to slowly prance her way around the clearing, watching the younger pup with a smile. When he spoke, she tilted her head slightly to the side at the stutter, and when his ears twitched, she uncontrollably twitched hers as well, back and forth quite quickly. But with all this, Saphira did not judge this dog. In the show ring, Saphira had seem many many perfect dogs of body, who had the worst minds ever. They had been so rude. So, it taught Saphira to never judge a book by its cover.
"Oh, its been a long day of travelling, doing nothing but mousing. You know, boring things," she answered with a smile. She had heard the other dog stop in the bushes, and she glanced over in the direction, and wondered what kept the other pup from coming out. "How about yourself? And your friend?" She glanced over at the bushes again. The on in front of her was kind of cute.

Don had felt nervous and embarassed about his tics in front of Saphira but he could tell by her nonchalant expression that she didn't think a thing of it, and he wondered whether perhaps there were other dogs like him out there. Maybe he wasn't just one lonely freak or misfit after all. Could it be, perhaps, that this was common in housedogs? He thought she looked like she had come from good breeding and he wouldn't be one bit surprised if she had lived with people at some point in her life.
He saw her glancing toward the bushes and asking about his friend. Glaw? he thought. "Oh, I suppose he didn't beat me here after all, then," he said cheerfully. He had been hoping that Glaw didn't get lost on the way back to the pine trees- he wasn't used to this territory after all. Thinking that, he berated himself for even suggesting they race here at all. Where did he get these ideas?
"My friend is Glaw, and he just stopped by recently and came to meet my Dad, the King. We were r-racing back here so we could hunt down something for dinner. If you've been catching mice that probably means the rabbits are elsewhere today, perhaps on the other side of these fields."

From where Glaw stood, this female looked to be no threat. He slowly came forward, giving in to curiosity. He made his way to Don's side where he turned to his new friend. "Who is she?" The thick furred dog asked, flicking his ears towards the dog before them. Now that he saw her from the front, her face did not show aggression. She acted almost as if she belonged here. Glaw was a bit confused, thinking that an intruder would not normally act like this...

An ear twitched as Saphira listened to the male afore her speak, then swiveled around as the other dog walked out of the bushes. The fluffy male who appeared before her was also an attractive male. The fluffy one stop near the slim one and asked who she was. "My apologies," Saphira said with a slight bob of her head. "My name is Saphira. I am only a traveler hoping to make a home soon." she revealed to them.
She looked at Vice, "Your father? The King. Would you mind terribly if I joined your hunt to bring something back to him as a gift for allowing me on his land?" she asked, rolling her shoulders and cracking her neck. "I've still quite a bit to learn about hunting, but hopefully I could find something to bring back to him."

Don was becoming quite happy with his little crew. With everyone being so friendly he was thinking that perhaps his luck had changed for the better, and it was a very welcome improvement in the circumstances.
He heard a sound in the forest and his very formidible friend came to his side, obviously watching the female dog who stood before them. He wanted to ask what he thought of her but knew that to do so would risk making a fool of himself supposing either he or her thought him silly for having such thoughts as a puppy-like playfullness toward a new acquaintance. "Who is she?" He heard Glaw ask him. He'd like to give him an answer but for now all he could do was shrug. "New friend?" he said, not entirely sure it was true but hoping it would be.
When she introduced herself as Saphira he realized that he hadn't introduced himself properly. "M-my name's Don. And yeah, it would be g-greAT if you hunted with us. Dad would appreciate it." He watched the way she moved, fluidly almost like she was a cat and heard her cracking her joints. He'd never been able to do that before but it interested him and he cocked his head to the side curiously and watched to see what Saphira and Glaw would do, wondering whether he should lead them on the hunt or perhaps they'd all wander a bit until someone caught a scent.

Glaw looked at Don, then at Saphira. He decided to follow his friend and introduce himself. "My name is Glaw." He said, panting. He decided that he liked her, and that if Don thought it was alright they could be friends. He was thrilled that he had made three new friends and possibly found a permanent home all in one day. His life had changed greatly in only a few hours, and he thought it was a good thing. Glaw guessed this would be perfect once he mastered the stairs, and maybe one day he could have a mate and puppies. He smiled at the stranger and said "I arrived here today, too."

OOC;; Sorry, guess y'all were waiting for me...
BIC;;
Saphira nodded. Don. Skinny. Twitchy. Friendly. Glaw. Fluffy. Cautious. Nice. Saphira looked back and forth between the two males. Totally opposite with their looks, yet they were both friendly enough. She felt she could make a living here with these dogs. It seemed like a friendly group so far.
"Nice to meet you Don, Glaw," she nodded to each dog respectively. Bowing forward to stretch her front legs, she stood again and shook her whole body, dust floating off what used to be an immaculate coat. Lifting her nose, she sniffed the air, but she couldn't smell anything in the direct vicinity that seemed edible. "We should head out before the day gets long and everything goes into hiding to escape the heat of the day." she pranced lightly on her paws, anxious to be on the way. She wasn't a very good huntress, but what she lacked in skill, she made up for in enthusiasm.
