Welcome... ...to Torn Leather, a realistic stray dog role-playing game that has been open for nearly one year and is currently undergoing some renovations. The site is freeplay, meaning that there will be site-wide plots which each user has the option to participate in, and mini-plots always welcome. The rating is PG-13 because while there are few language restrictions, we encourage members to use their better judgement and think of others before posting.

So I've been sick for a while, they had me on two different medications and I missed a whole lot of school and work. I am just now getting back to seeing what I have got to makeup so I won't lose marks in school. I'd hate to end up failing senior year for days missed or because I didn't make up what work I missed.
Anyways, sorry I haven't really been on that much. Been feeling really ill but I am pretty much better now, thankfully. Also, please use the new email below if you wish to contact me.

Sorry about being so busy lately. I've been through some real life drama I can't completely explain up here without going into a rant. Anyway, my grandmother is okay to the best of our knowledge and should be alright once she is done medical treatment and even though me and my boyfriend got into a big argument, we should be alright since he told me he isn't mad and he will call me today, see me on Friday. I did manage to get my hours cut at work as well, so that should be good.
At any rate, I'm back now and regret being gone for so long. I could really use help getting things going again and if anyone would like to contact me, feel free to add me on myspace (I am Alexx Spastic) or send me an email at my AOL address, listed below.
Official TL Reopening!6/16
The short Hiatus is over, I've now got two more mods to help take care of the site when I am at work or go on the short Disney vacation next week, and we are back in business! I'm going to be checking activity over the next few days and some packs may have their leaders replaced if their owners don't sign on and get active. I've got something planned for the leader of the Dynasty, and can't wait to get things going again. There will be an advertising contest for those who wish to participate, and other than that, feel free to look around and begin rping again!

Limestone Chateau Rolling hills surround and protect an old, crumbling building. The turrets, beautiful limestone, have passed the test of time rather well and are hardly marked by the many years they have been weathered. All of this and more lends to an air of aristocracy about the old place and those who pass can't resist thoughts of grandeur when encountering a place such as this. While it was built in North America some time ago, it is hard not to be reminded of the majestic European Castles.
The Prison Within an old, abandoned prison there is a series of halls and cells. The nicked and scraped walls tell of riots and escape attempts that took place long ago, causing the jail to be shut down. The floors are dirty, the tiles cracked. Where once there was a sparkling institution there is now only a shadow of the place it had been, dank and hopeless as any other building with a history as brutal as this. Down a flight of stairs there is an old basement made up to be an execution room. It was many a man who lived his last minutes strapped in the old electric chair but the power has long since been cut off, leaving neither a spark nor a light in the entire building.
Deserted Factory A fenced in lot is now home to the abandoned factory once used to make buttons of various descriptions. It has long since been closed down and boarded up due to health regulations and toxic fumes released into the atmosphere. To bring the building up to code would've cost far too much money and it stands nearly-empty now, only the large machines and worktables still left behind, too big and cumbersome to remove. Some of the windows were neglected and never boarded up when the owner did the others, reluctant to walk through a tangle of ivy out back. Dogs seem to have broken through, their fur still clinging along the window's shattered edges.
Rave Night Club Right in the midst of the city there is a club that cranks out the music all night long. Closed during daylight hours, it isn't until dawn that the doors are finally shut until dusk again. Behind the building dogs like to gather and eat from the trash cans until humans come to congregate while waiting for nightfall. Moderator: alexxSPASTIC

15th Street Perhaps the most well-known street in the entire city, 15th Street is where all the action takes place. People mill about, hardly noticing one another as they stop taxis, talk on their cellphones, and drag their children along by the hands. Street vendors sell hotdogs and other delicious meats, and what dog could turn up a hot meal? Moderator: alexxSPASTIC

Junkyard Back when the city was newer, people had high hopes for the place and built a Junkyard to keep it clean. Now, however, people rarely come by and even then it is only to drop off their own trash or to pick from what has been left here. In front, cars in poor shape have been piled one on top of another. Out back, there are great heaps of trash from garbage bags to front doors with the locks broken and windows cracked. Moderator: alexxSPASTIC

County Shelter Called a shelter, the filthy clinic at the end of the long driveway is nothing more than a simple pound. The dogs are left in cages for days at a time with no interaction human or dog, and they have gone stir-crazy, rather taken to barking at all who pass. It has gotten so bad that even staff prefer not to bother with them, and only a few people care to toss some kibble their way. Those who do, however, are dedicated to the animals, feeling a special calling to them. They try to make these dogs' lives easier, taking them out and walking them whenever there is time, but there are too many animals and not enough families willing to take them in. Central Park Gatherings of all sort once took place here- back before the city decided to close down the rusted and unsafe park. The fence has been broken down in several areas and even the blacktop cannot withstand the roots of the mighty oak as they split it. Moderator: alexxSPASTIC

Suburbia In a pleasant little town on the edge of the city, many people live in spacious homes with well-tended lawns and pets that are kept behind chainlink fences. It seems the ideal town to live in, and even strays are welcomed by these people, thought to be lost pets. Moderator: alexxSPASTIC

Bayside Retreat Just on the edge of town, by the bay, there is a vacation retreat not frequented by too many visitors. While people may come and go in order to visit the hotel and waterfront, there is about two and a half miles of open sand and dune grass fenced off and isolated due to a law about a specific species of crab living in the sandy dunes. Cacti Fields Secluded not only from human society but even most canines as well, there is a patch of land that most would find uninhabitable. In this desert-like region the sun is hot, the air dry, and cacti grow in sprawling fields across the landscape interrupted only by bare sand and spurts of tall grass. It may not seem safe, but isolation and unique living conditions nearly erradicate the need for any type of real defenses. Out here, the only way to prevent being baked by the sun is to make a shallow burrow during the day, crawling out to roam and hunt in the cool of the night.
Route 9 On a long stretch of road not frequented by cars, there is an almost endless parade of wildlife running to and fro from side to side. What does that mean when cars do finally come along? Roadkill. Moderator: alexxSPASTIC

Sunrise Farms Way out in the country there is an old farmhouse with only a single dirt road leading up to it. All manner of animals make their home here, tended by the family living in the large ranch-style house in the middle of an incredibly large plot of land. Moderator: alexxSPASTIC

Dank Forest A dark forest with thick evergreen boughs and a shady canopy of leaves may make one think of a winter wonderland, but this is one dangerous place to go walking about, especially for females and young pups who may be easily lost. Moderator: alexxSPASTIC

Indian Reservation Fields, forest, and river are all a part of this grand territory. It is one of the few untamed places in this wonderful city and while it is truly magnificent, very few people ever come to visit. Only the kind Native Americans, the ones who tend the crops and cattle, venture into this area. They are kind to animals and all well-behaved dogs will be met with open arms. Due to their beliefs and fondness for nature, however, they have a special reverence for wolf-like dogs. Moderator: alexxSPASTIC

Foxglove Gardens In the midst of so much wilderness, there is a calm and quite place where foxgloves grow in large numbers and create shade as well as shelter. Many pregnant dogs like to come here to nest in the shade beside the aromatic lilac flowers.
